What is roaming?
Your regular mobile network carrier only covers a certain geographical area, which means that when you travel outside that area, you need to purchase additional coverage on a different network. This process is called “roaming.”

These packages are very expensive, and if you exceed the allocated talk, text, or data limits, you run the risk of paying even higher overage charges..

The SIM card also acts as a mini hard drive, storing the mobile phone number you use on that network, your phone book, and the text messages and other data that normally sits on your phone. SIM cards are interchangeable between devices, allowing you to transfer your talk, text, or data plan to other handsets easily.
What is an unlocked phone?
Mobile phone providers commonly lock their phones so they can only be used on their own networks, and not on those of competing carriers.
If you’re unsure whether your phone is locked or not, please contact your mobile carrier. After a period of time, a mobile provider might agree to unlock the phone upon request, usually charging a fee.
Once a mobile phone is unlocked, you are free to insert other SIM cards into the handset and use it on other networks. To access the eMobile network on your own unlocked phone, simply insert the eMobile SIM Card into your handset
